Celebrate Christmas on the Costa del Sol
Celebrating Christmas and New Year under blue skies and choosing from shopping in a festive old town bedecked in twinkling lights, or heading to the beach for a stroll is a real treat. Festivities begin on Saturday 3rd of December from 4 to 8pm, with the annual switch on of the stunning lights of the Kempinski’s huge Christmas tree and a Christmas market. This annual event includes more than twenty stalls with artisan and gourmet products and Christmas gifts to buy. Guests are welcomed with mulled wine, Father Christmas will turn on the festive lights and a choir sings traditional carols to start to the season in style.
There is a sumptuous Christmas Eve dinner at the Alminar Wine & Steak House, including a welcome drink and five delicious courses with live classical music. The following day there is a Christmas Brunch, with delicious food, a visit from Father Christmas, kids’ entertainers and live jazz from 1-4pm.
The Kempinski is best known for their legendary New Year’s Eve parties. This year it’s a Masquerade Ball theme and the whole area will be dressed for the occasion, with the hotel going all out to provide an unbeatable experience for all. Upon arrival guests enjoy a champagne cocktail and canapés, followed by a six course gala dinner with wine pairing. There is live music throughout and an open bar following the Spanish tradition of eating 12 grapes at midnight – one for every chime of the clock. Children are looked after at a special kids’ party, so the whole family have the best time to see in the new year. Sore heads will be soothed and the festivities continue the following day with a delicious New Year brunch with live jazz.
