Christmas concerts on the Costa del Sol
We’re lucky to have some amazing choirs and musical groups on the Costa del Sol and one of the best known is the Collegium Musicum Costa del Sol Choir and Orchestra.
It was founded in 1975 and this year they are celebrating their 50th Anniversary! The association has grown from just a few music lovers who got together in the home of their Founder Anna-Maria Kater to a large, well-established orchestra and choir, led by Musical Director and conductor Delyth Bressington.
They are a non-profit-making international association of former music professionals and amateur music lovers who have come together to play and sing. Their mission is not only to offer all types of beautiful music to a listening public but to encourage as many people as possible to join us in the pleasure of making music together – using the language of music with instruments and voices to unite all ages and nationalities.
They hold concerts twice a year at the end of May and at Christmas and they have two fantastic Christmas concerts coming up in Marbella and Fuengirola.
THE JOY OF CHRISTMAS with Choir and Orchestra COLLEGIUM MUSICUM Costa del Sol
This December you can enjoy their popular Christmas concerts in Fuengirola and Marbella.
The programme features “Joy Has Dawned” – a beautiful sequence of carols – and a selection of glorious seasonal music filled with uplifting rhythms and enchanting melodies. It features distinguished violinist Geoffrey Silver from the UK to perform the Winter concerto from Vivaldi’s celebrated “The Seasons” and the dazzling “Carmen Fantasia” by Pablo de Sarasate.
They are inviting guests to join them to begin your international Christmas celebrations in festive musical style.
Fuengirola Christmas Concert
On Sunday December 14th at 19:30h, the orchestra and choir will be performing at the IPV Palace & Spa Hotel in Fuengirola.
Tickets for the concert are €15 for adults and free for under 16s. They can be purchased in advance from the following places –

Subject to availability, they will also be on sale on the door from 19:00h at the door.
Marbella Christmas Concert
They are also performing at the main church in Marbella Old Town on Tuesday December 16th at 20:30h.
The Church of the Encarnación (La Encarnación) is a stunning building and a wonderful setting for a Christmas concert, to get you in the festive spirit. The Old Town is magical over Christmas, and it’s close to the Christmas market too, so you can pick up some gifts and hear some wonderful music too.
This concert is raising funds to support of the charities run by the Church. Tickets are not available, but donations will be kindly requested at the end of the performance.

There are so many great musical events to enjoy in Marbella this festive season!
On the day that the lights get switched on, there will be a traditional Zambomba Flamenca which brings the spirit of a Jerez Christmas to Marbella. This is part of the big launch of the Christmas season in Marbella from 20.00 on Saturday 29th of November.
The Municipal Band is performing a Christmas concert at the Church of the Encarnación on the 11th of December from 20.30-22.00. Entrance is free. Find out more
