HERE´S AN INTERVIEW WITH KATARINA LINDEVALL

Where are you from?
Actually born in Malaga, but moved back to Sweden when I was two years old. Also lived in Barcelona for a while and many years in Santa Barbara, California.

What brings you to Spain?

After 6 years in sunny California it was time to return to Europe. Cold Sweden didn’t seem very tempting being used to the warm climate I had been spoiled with, so Marbella seemed like an excellent option, coming back to my roots you could say!

How does living and working in Spain differ from Sweden?

It feels easier and more forgiving to live in Spain than in Sweden. Spain offers a more flexible lifestyle, more laid back, sometimes too laid back… but combining that with the more disciplined Swedish background works really great for me! Having children in Spain has been a great experience! They are welcome everywhere and it doesn’t hurt to be on a playground with ocean view and a t-shirt in December!

What did you do before working with Shaw Marketing Services?

I worked as a Graphic Designer for various book publishing companies in the States along with freelancing. Once in Spain I worked for a few years as an Editor and Graphic Designer for different magazines, both on the coast, in the UK and Dubai. When I had my first child, I built my own business around myself as a full time freelancer, focusing on magazine design, marketing material, books, catalogues, brochures and layout design in general. I’m a photographer from the beginning, but it’s too hard to make money in this profession, but I still enjoy working with photo enhancement and photo retouching. 

What does your job entail with Shaw Marketing Services?
I handle various Graphic Design jobs such as branding, brochures, logos, business cards, print adverts, marketing materials… and well anything that has to do with layout and design.
