Recommendations for networking groups and events on the Costa del Sol

Yesterday was our latest Manilva networking evening and we had a great event. On the way out a few of our new networkers asked us to recommend other groups and events to help them get out there and promote themselves, so below are a few that everyone should try.

Costa Women – Excellent online networking group for any women living in Spain, or wanting to move here. It’s free to join and you can join up with groups for your area or your interests, promote your business and any events you’re running to the community online via their website and social media. They also run regular events for the different areas to meet members face to face. The flagship event for the year is the International Women’s Day event on the 10th March at Andalucia Lab in Elviria, which is an inspiring, engaging, interesting event with loads of great speakers (including our own Georgina Shaw) and lots of networking opportunities.

Business 1st – Really friendly and effective business networking group with events in Marbella and Mijas. The groups meet twice a month on Thursday mornings at Mijas Costa and on alternate weeks, twice a month in Marbella for a delicious cooked breakfast, followed by the meeting itself. This offers a good mix of relaxed and social networking and presentations from members and the group is very supportive.

Women in Business Gibraltar – For women on the Western Costa del Sol, Gibraltar is a really interesting market and WIB Gibraltar is an excellent way to build connections between Gibraltar and Spanish businesses and see what the possibilities are to grow.

CIT Marbella – For the Spanish speakers based in and around Marbella, this is an excellent group, with a big membership, lots of member benefits and regular events.

Malaga Business Minds – If you’re based on the Eastern Costa del Sol, tap into the Malaga business network and get some interesting training and inspiration with Nami and the team from Malaga Business Minds, they have regular meetings and excellent speakers.

British Chamber of Commerce – This prestigious organisation attracts big companies and holds regular meetings in Marbella, as well as in Madrid and Barcelona and they have a big event coming up on the 21st of February in central Marbella.

Trusted Trades – The Trusted Trades Association is a non profit making group of professional, quality, English speaking businesses based on the Costa del Sol. The next meeting is at the Hotel Senator on the 22nd of February.

There are lots of other networking events and groups out there, including of course our own Manilva networking group which holds evening meetings in the CIVIMA wine museum.

If you want to recommend other groups or upcoming events, please comment below – always good to know about what’s going on!

The Business Breakfast Club, now in its 4th year, is a monthly business networking group in the Axarquia area, East of Malaga. Each month this business group meet at the Baviera Golf Club to connect, network, help and inspire each other with news & information. Members gain a trusted group of regular contacts which can then be recommended to new business contacts.
