TRE Telethon 2016 In Aid of Cudeca Hospice
Once again TRE are holding their annual TRE Telethon 2016 in aid of Cudeca Hospice and you are invited to join in on Friday 25th November from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm. The show will be hosted by the TRE team alongside some special guests performing live in the studio.
An increasing number of terminal cancer patients choose to spend their final months and days in their own home. Cudeca Hospice supports these patients and their families by providing HOME VISITS TEAMS. A team is made up of a doctor and nurse supported by in-house psychologists, a physiotherapist and social workers. Each team costs Cudeca €100,000 per year and there are now 6 teams, with 2 teams added in the last year. Cudeca would not exist without private donations and fundraising. Every year, TRE holds a telethon to raise funds to support Cudeca Hospice and once again the TRE TELETHON 2016 aims to raise €100,000 to cover the annual cost of one team.
Each year Cudeca Hospice requires 3 million euros to provide its services such as home care, the day care unit and the in-patient unit to over 1,100 patients annually and support to their family. This year, TRE TELETHON 2016 must raise €100,000 to cover the cost of a Home Visit Team for one year. You can help achieve this in a number of ways:
- By donating products or services to be auctioned in our Telethon.
- Simply by making a donation by calling 952 000 282 or going online to www.cudeca.org. Please specify TRE Telethon with any such donation. If you have any items we can auction, please let us have details of the item and your name and address to telethon@talkradioeurope.com.
School participation has always been an important part of the TRE Telethons. This year we will be awarding a prize to the school with the most innovative fund-raising idea. You can organize a non-uniform day with pupils paying €2 for the privilege and proving that everybody, no matter how young, can contribute and make a difference and pictures of the event can be uploaded to Facebook. And donations can always be raised In Memorium of a loved one on the same day of the Telethon.
