Georgina Recommends – BrosKo

Georgina Recommends – BrosKo

This smart, pan-Asian restaurant in Sotogrande is a relatively new find for us and we absolutely love it. The food is delicious and varied, the service excellent and it feels special without an expensive price tag. Highly recommended for anyone like us that is craving good Asian food.

The Location

You can find BrosKo at the back of Pueblo Nuevo, on Avenida Los Canos, on the way up to the big Lidl and next to the beautiful florist Florium. There’s plenty of parking around and a small park and playground nearby.

The Décor/Atmosphere

BrosKo is beautifully decorated, with a smart Japanese theme. It’s minimal, as is normal for Japanese places, with an open sushi bar where you can see the chefs making the sushi. It feels both elegant and comfortable and somewhere that you are going to have a nice experience.

The Food

If you love Asian food as much as we do, you are in for a treat. Most of it is Japanese, with some other Asian crowd pleasers like spring rolls, wok dishes, pad thai and unexpectedly some incredible hamburgers too!

The sushi selection is amazing, with plenty of classic options like sashimi, temaki and nigiri. We love their unusual Chef Rolls – but these are not for the faint hearted. Our favourites are the tuna dynamite roll, the caterpillar roll with panko prawns inside and the volcano roll with spicy tuna and a crunchy panko coating on the whole roll.

We’ve tried a lot of their dishes and not been disappointed. Apart from the rolls, our favourites are; the dumplings (chicken and pork), tempura prawns, the tuna tartar with mango and avocado, the Pad Thai, chicken Katsu curry and the ramen.

The burgers look epic as well, but we’ve only gone down the Asian route.

The Service

This is a place that takes its service and customer experience seriously, and we think it is excellent. It is very well organised, there’s one main waiter who takes food orders and they are polite, efficient and always seem happy to see you. The food comes quickly too. The only thing they can be a little slow at is bringing menus, but you can use the QR code on your table anyway.

The Price

Asian food in Spain is usually expensive, as it’s hard to get the ingredients, but I think Brosko is really well priced, especially given that it’s in Sotogrande and has a very classy, elegant feel.

There are some amazing value dishes. I am always shocked (pleasantly so) to see the Katsu Curry with rice for 8€, the Chef rolls around 10€ and the burgers all under 10€. Noodle dishes are around 10€ too and the huge bowls of Ramen are 10.50€ for pork, 11€ for chicken and 12.50€ for beef and you struggle to finish them.

Of course, with tartar and sushi it will bump the price up, but I think for the quality of the food, the lovely setting and service it is a bargain.
