Shaw Marketing Services supports MLGA
As part of our commitment to supporting local charities, we’re helping Marbella Ladies Golfing Association launch their fundraising drive for 2011 by promoting their plans to the local press and the golfing press in the UK.
We’re getting excellent support from the local media and we’ll be discussing it on Talk Radio Europe tomorrow at 1pm. So far, The News Newspaper and Essential Magazine have agreed to run the press release and websites In Malaga Today and Marbella Family Fun have also picked up the story so it’s a great start.
We hope this press coverage will attract more members to the organisation, interest businesses in sponsoring their events and generally kick-start their fundraising efforts. Together, we’ll be working towards their ambitious target of raising 8,000€ for Cudeca and Ciudad de los Niños over the coming year.
Traditionally they have ran a few large fundraising events and relied on this as the way to generate donations. Now, they will be adding a small donation to the price of all golfing events through the year to generate a steady income stream for the charities. In addition, they will be running several large charity events and will be looking to the local businesses for sponsorship. By running these two fundraising methods hand in hand they hope to double last year’s total.
Founder Beatriz Crawford-Carse explains. “Since setting up Marbella LGA in 2006, I was determined that we would contribute to the community via donations to worthy local charities. Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice is battling to stay open and care for its patients and Cuidad de los Niños has many children relying on them for accommodation, food and education, so it’s vital that they can count on regular donations from organisations such as ours.
Rather than simply focus on our large charity events to fundraise, we will now be adding a small donation to the cost of each event we run. As we negotiate such excellent discounts with the courses, it will still cost less for our members, but we can be building up a fund throughout the year.
Of course, we will still be organizing our charity events as well and hope the business community can help us via sponsorship and the golfers will give generously. Our aim is to double our total from this year and raise 8,000€ for these charities during 2011, a target I am sure we can reach with hard work and generosity from the residents and golfers of Marbella.”

Marbella Ladies Golfing Association is a friendly association which welcomes Ladies of all abilities living or holidaying in Marbella to come and enjoy a game of golf. The club is non-profit making and can negotiate discounts for their members with the areas’ best courses to make golf both more affordable and more sociable.
