Donate Food to the Cruz Roja at Specsavers in Benidorm

Cruz Roja exclusion socialSpecsavers Opticas in Benidorm is organizing a food collection campaign on behalf of the Cruz Roja (Spanish Red Cross) from 2nd to 7th of June to collect much needed supplies for local families requiring help. There will be a collection point in front of the store in Calle de Gambó 2 from 10.00-20.00 every day during this week. Cruz Roja are particularly asking for tuna, milk, oil, tinned tomatoes and children’s food such as juices, cereals and cakes to be brought to the collection point.

The food collected will be delivered to the Cruz Roja Benidorm’s food bank and donated to needy families at risk of social exclusion. They help between 80-100 people per week and have seen the demand for the food donations more than double over the past few years due to the crisis.  

Free eye health seminar at Specsavers Torrevieja

Cataracts presentationOn Wednesday 24th July Specsavers Opticas in Torrevieja will be holding an informative free event discussing the common ocular diseases Glaucoma, Cataracts and Macular degeneration. The one hour seminar will take place in the store on Avenida Rosa Mazon Valero (Opposite Habaneras Shopping Centre) at 11.00am. The seminar will discuss the causes, symptoms and risk factors of  these conditions as well as prevention and treatment methods.

In addition to the seminar, there will be a radio roadshow from Sunshine FM, a performance from band The Notion and goodie bags, snacks and drinks for everyone. There will be face painting for children and the winner of the Moshi Monster competition will be announced. To enter the competition, children should draw their favourite monster and bring it to the store before 20th July.

This event will also be raising funds and collecting items for charity. As part of Specsavers’ on-going support of The Lions Club, they are asking all attendees to bring unwanted glasses into the store to donate to people in the Third World. A raffle will also be held to raise money for ALPE rehabilitation centre for disabled and disadvantage children.

El nuevo centro de Specsavers Opticas en Benidorm celebra una rifa benéfica a favor de EMAUS 01/12/11

Para celebrar la apertura de un nuevo centro de Specsavers Opticas en Benidorm, tendrá un divertido día de puertas abiertas en el que se recaudarán fondos para la fundación EMAUS para niños.

Este emocionante acontecimiento tendrá lugar en el establecimiento sito en Calle de Gambó, 2, el 1 de diciembre desde las 10am hasta las 8pm.

Una parte muy importante de este evento será la rifa benéfica en favor de EMAUS, una fantástica fundación que proporciona hogares a niños necesitados. Las papeletas se venderán en el establecimiento a lo largo del día y los directores Phil Morgan y Jorge Martínez de Lizarduy Araico esperan que los asistentes disfruten del evento y sean generosos.

New Benidorm Specsavers Opticas to hold EMAUS charity raffle on Open Day, Dec. 1st

To celebrate the opening of a brand new Specsavers Opticas store in Benidorm, there will be a fun open day which will raise money for children’s charity EMAUS. This exciting event will be held in store at Calle de Gambó 2 on 1st December from 10am to 8pm.

An important part of this event is the charity raffle in aid of EMAUS, a fantastic charity which provides homes to children in need. Tickets will be sold at the store throughout the day and Directors Phil Morgan and Jorge Martinez de Lizarduy Araico hope that visitors will enjoy the event and give generously.
