CostaWomen Twitterview with Shaw Marketing Services

On Wednesday Ali Meehan @costawomen interviewed me about Shaw Marketing Services via Twitter. It was tricky thinking of answers which made sense in just 140 characters, but hopefully people found it interesting. My only criticism with the format of cutting up all the questions and answers so making it difficult to see as a whole. To get round that, Ali has put the interview on their facebook page so you can see it in full.

Here were a few other questions we didn’t get time to cover.

What keeps you awake at night with excitement re your business?
The potential for what we could do next! I see a huge market helping the Spanish market to expats & want to explore that

If you were to start over again, what if anything would you do differently?
Always insist on 50% upfront to guard against not being paid which is sadly common here

Your greatest challenge, whether personal or business?
Travelling around China on my own without speaking the language when I was 21 was probably my toughest but most amazing experience

To relax would we find you on a beach, mountains, city or shed?
I love cities all year round and mountains for skiing, but I am not a fan of the beach – too much sand!

Where do you see your business in the next 10 years?
We’re in expansion mode & I’d like to grow our team whilst maintaining our high standards & affordable prices – watch this space!

What dream for your business are you now realising?
We’re getting lots of fab feedback, happy customers & a really good reputation which has led to some great clients like Specsavers

Which other marketeers would you like to invite to dinner?
I’m a big fan of @Seth Godin, he’d make a good dinner guest

Your business epitaph – what would it say?
Shaw Marketing Services helped hundreds of businesses grow & prosper through intelligent & cost-effective marketing

What gift would you most like to reward yourself with?
My reward is to have happy customers & make the business thrive so we can enjoy this great life in Spain with friends & family
