Permaculture Design Course Marbella

We’re really proud to be supporting the environmental charity Arboretum Marbella to spread the word about their world-class Permaculture Design Course in October.

This two week long, intensive course (8th -20th October) is delivered in English and Spanish by some of the leading specialists in their field, in the beautiful and inspiring location of Arboretum in Marbella. It will teach you everything you need to know about permaculture to be able to apply permaculture designs to your personal or business life.

There’s so much to love about permaculture, because basically it is teaching you how to grow things in a way which is as close to the natural systems as possible. Permaculture reduces work for the gardener and minimises what the garden needs, saving time, money and natural resources, so as well as being sustainable, it’s easier! The idea is that if we can mimic nature as much as possible then things will flourish without too much interference, as they do in the wild. For example, if we plant things which complement each other, use local species of plants which can deal with the climate and encourage pest-controlling insects to take residence, then we can forget about pesticides or using too much water.

This course is perfect for anyone with an interest in gardening and growing your own who wants to apply sustainable growing techniques into your life. For example, if you’re the President of a Community and want to make your urbanization come together, produce fresh fruit and vegetables in a sustainable way, this course can give you the skills to make this a reality. If you’re a gardener who wants to add another important string to your bow which will be more and more profitable as people demand sustainability in their gardens, schools and communities, this would be an excellent choice. If you have a B&B with land or a restaurant with some growing space and you want to stand out from the crowd, learn about permaculture and plant a productive garden to provide you with produce, without damaging the environment and giving you something that customers will love this course is for you. Even if you just have a property with land that you want to make productive in a sustainable way this course will help you achieve it!

In 2016 Arboretum Marbella is running two great permaculture courses side by side, an internationally recognised and certified introductory course and an advanced course for anyone who already holds a PDC certificate but wishes to develop this further.

PDC 2016 is an educational experience that is informal, practical and based on nature, personal transformation and collective action. There are options to choose a 72-hour basic option which will result in an official permaculture certificate from Arboretum, or stay for the extended 104-hour course which gives you an official and internationally recognised qualification from the British Permaculture Association.

There is also an advanced course from October 9th to 15th. This advanced course is focussed on the design and management of a practical case study. It is only open to those that already hold and official PDC certificate (minimum of 72 hours). PDC 2016 Advanced (56 hours) includes an official certificate from the British Permaculture Association.
