Exclusive conference of Satish Kumar: 25 October in Marbella

satish kumarThe future wellbeing of mankind and the earth depends on a new vision on the world, a vision in which taking care of the planet, feeding the soul and creating communities merge into one and the same, so states Satish Kumar.

Satish Kumar proposes working with nature, the individual and society and chooses the words ‘soil, soul and society’. According to Satish Kumar this trinity reflects who we are and from there on we can start to continue towards a new holistic model, based on participation, diversity and the connections between everything in this life. With these pillars we can create a vision of sustainability, spirituality and justice.

Satish Kumar will be in Marbella as one of the teachers during the Permaculture Design Course. Those who do not participate at the PDC but would like to meet him in person to learn and get inspired about his ideas on the future are invited to do so during an exclusive conference at the Buchinger Clinic on the 25th of October. In order for everyone to really get to meet him places are limited and reservations can be made until 21st of October.

Entrance fee: 70€. Includes the conference, the book ‘Soil, soul and society’ and a cocktail with canapés.

All entry fees will be donated to the construction of the Domo Confianza, the first classroom made with bioconstruction in Marbella. (www.pasoapasoxoarboretum.org)

More information on Satish Kumar
Former monk and long-term peace and environment activist, Satish Kumar has been quietly setting the Global Agenda for change for over 50 years. He was just nine when he left his family home to join the wandering Jains and 18 when he decided he could achieve more back in the world, campaigning for land reform in India and working to turn Gandhi’s vision of a renewed India and a peaceful world into reality.
Inspired in his early 20s by the example of the British peace activist Bertrand Russell, Satish embarked on an 8,000-mile peace pilgrimage. Carrying no money and depending on the kindness and hospitality of strangers, he walked from India to America, via Moscow, London and Paris, to deliver a humble packet of ‘peace tea’ to the then leaders of the world’s four nuclear powers.

Satish is on the Advisory Board of Our Future Planet, a unique online community sharing ideas for real change and in recognition of his commitment to animal welfare and compassionate living, he was recently elected vice-president with the RSPCA. He continues to teach and run workshops on reverential ecology, holistic education and voluntary simplicity and is a much sought-after speaker both in the UK and abroad.
